Our doctoral and Master’s program wins National Award!

Yay us!
The Educational Psychology and Educational Technology Program, at Michigan State University won the 2013 Best Practice Award for the Innovative Use of Technology awarded by the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE).

Buy Behaviorism, Because We’re Selling it!

The Task: Students in the new hybrid phd program were given a rather ill-defined task. In order to better learn about behaviorism, they were first given a weekend to individually come up with script ideas to “sell behaviorism” as a commercial (1 minute or less). In class, they worked in groups of 3 for just 3 hours to come up with one joint script, shoot the video, and edit it. The results of these videos were posted on youTube and can be seen below:

Demotivational posters from the MAET program

Based upon the comedy stylings of despair.com, students in the 2010 summer, on-campus cohort of the MAET program used their understanding of the motivational literature to make some “De-Motivataional Posters.”

Behaviorism: Buy it, because we’re selling it
